1. Why these rules exist

DataAttendant is a tool for preparing files before they are shared. These rules keep it fair for every customer and keep it working. They are part of our terms of service.

2. What you may not do

You may not use the Service, or try to use it, to:

  • process data you have no right to process. You need a lawful basis for any personal data in your files, and permission for any confidential data;
  • break the law, or help someone else break it. That includes data protection law, the law of confidentiality, and the law of intellectual property;
  • get around the metering of exports. Do not alter, replay, or forge a run's signed authorization, the record of credits, or any request to our server;
  • abuse sign-up. Do not create accounts in bulk or by automated means. Do not use another person's email address without their permission, or create accounts to collect free credits again and again;
  • get around the security check on the Account page, other than by completing it;
  • probe or attack the Service. Do not scan it for weaknesses, overload it, or try to reach data that is not yours. If you find a weakness, tell us at support@dataattendant.com and give us time to fix it before anyone else learns of it;
  • resell or share the Service beyond the license in our terms of service. Do not sell access, share one account between several people, or copy the Service's rules or lists into another product;
  • send harmful code to the Service, or use it to spread such code.

3. What may happen if the rules are broken

Depending on how serious the breach is, we may:

  • ask you to stop, and give you time to put it right;
  • limit or reverse credits that were obtained by breaking these rules;
  • suspend the account while we look into it;
  • close the account, as the terms of service allow;
  • report the matter to the authorities where the law requires or allows it.

We will tell you what we did and why, unless the law forbids it. Unusual use is flagged for a person to look at; it is never acted on automatically.

Closing an account never touches what is kept in your browser. Your saved data stays there, and opening, preview, and restore keep working.
